How do domain backlink analysis credits work?

Linkdex prides itself on having the most complete, accurate and useful backlink data in the world by far.

Each plan allows you to analyze a specific number of domains backlinks each month and if you would like, track changes. So for example if you wanted to see a competitors new links built in the last 30 days segmented by site type e.g. blogs, article sites, directories, pr submissions and more, you can do this and more with our backlink data.

If you need to vary domain analysis credits from month-to-month you can up and downgrade between data plans with ease.

How do Linkdex analyze the backlinks to a domain?

Out data is created by doing the following:

1) Creating A List Of Sites To Visit

Linkdex accesses the largest commercially available data sources as starting point for our own crawler and indexing technology. These include Majestic, who has the largest commercially available link map (Nearly 10 times the size of SEOMoz’s Linkscape), and Alexa, the largest traffic and domain data source.

2) Visit Linking Pages & Capture Content

Linkdex visits the linking pages to verify and clean our source data, and capture the content.

3) Profile Linking Pages

We then use our complex algorithms to profile and segment the linking pages into site types, as well as capturing other useful information like the link destinations and anchor text.

4) Score Link Sources

Linkdex uses advanced algorithms to score sites based on authority and trust (Influence) and relevance to your market defining keywords. Our scoring methodogies are unique and allow you to pinpoint quality links sources over link spam, and contextual links from relevant content over links from unrelated content in seconds.

Only a complex data mashup is capable of achieving our Influence score, and our Relevance score is only made possible because we store the page that we first visited for you within a users account. We are the only tool to be able to do these calculation.

This whole process is normally completed in just 2 and 4 hours depending on the size of the number of websites we’re visiting which can often run into the hundreds of thousands.

We then present this data in our platform where it can be viewed and analyzed in a number of unique and exciting ways.

What are Rank, Traffic & Value Credits?

If you want to know whether you’re winning or losing in your market and whether the gap is closing or getting further apart you need to track more than rankings (which of course we do accross lots of countries and different search engines, daily or weekly). You need to be looking at traffic and value / revenue as well.

Linkdex has made the benchmarking of these Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) easy as part of our standard platform features.

Having these metrics makes it possible to find out:

The value of natural search in your market.
What share of the searches you are getting.
If you should be investing more in natural search.

How does Linkdex do this?

With Linkdex you can rank check your competitors as well as your domains.

We then estimate the number of clicks you and your competitors are getting from your rankings.

We then estimate the amount you have to pay for those clicks if you were using paid search (the equivalent media value).

We then estimate your % share of your keywords.

And finally we estimate revenues based on the conversion and sales value assigned to keywords via keyword tagging i.e. you can say that keywords tagged with “Car Insurance” have an average conversion of 2% and are worth £500 a sign-up.

All done in just a few clicks.

Each plan has a number of credits allocated to do these checks. Each rank check we do uses one credit. So doing a rank check daily uses about 30 credits a month. A weekly rank check uses about 4 credits a month. This is why you may want to vary your rank check frequency for different keyword. For example, you could set your most important keywords to be checked daily and your least important keywords set to a weekly check.

Where we are comparing the rankings of lots of websites for the same keyword we only use one credit. So a ranking check of your website against ten others will only use one credit.

A rank check of any domain in different countries will use multiple credits as they are seperate checks.
